OUR HERO PROJECTS

Central to the initial plans were two specific and focussed Hero Projects that would deliver against the partnership’s goals. 

Focus

  • Providing outreach and content for local communities to help build capabilities for vocational activities and life skills for people in the community 

 

Objective

  • To help people to develop fulfilling careers and interest areas beyond those available in schools and academic education 

  • ​Share skills within local community

  • Member employees to improve local business skills and capabilities

Deliverables

  • Drive local commerce to local business 

  • Members and their workforce to explore/procure from local businesses

OUR PROJECTS

World of Work Week

A youth engagement initiative that providing students from local schools in the King’s Cross, Euston and St Pancras areas with experience of the working world across a myriad of sectors.

 

The week-long initiative involves interactive workshops from organisations across marketing, branding, finance and planning, aimed at inspiring students to discover their potential while giving them insight into different industries through hands-on briefs throughout the week.

Apprenticeship Levy

The Urban Partners Apprenticeship Support programme is an initiative delivered by Workwhile for SMEs from priority sectors in in Camden and Islington.

 

The programme of support is designed to create impact for local businesses and residents through helping local businesses to engage in apprenticeships and to build the conditions for success.

Work Insights Programme

An insight programme designed to introduce young people to the world of work, different sectors, the variety of roles in companies and people’s diverse pathways into their current roles.

Our events programme for member employees, operating across four themed networks.

Wellbeing Walk

Our circular walking route operating between King’s Cross, Euston and St. Pancras International stations

Homework Club

An innovative pilot scheme working with Eurostar to provide young people with an inspiring place to do their homework after school.

 

This initiative expanded to be able to offer not just a quiet place but also individual tuition in subjects including French, History, Math's and Physics as well as dedicated masterclasses run by local businesses.

Community Fund

The Urban Partners Community Fund is designed to provide grants ranging from £500 to £1,000 to grassroots organizations and community partners in our areas. These grants are intended to support projects and initiatives that make a positive impact within our community.

Employee Volunteering

Members can share volunteering opportunities with their employees, giving individuals the chance to make a positive impact in the King’s Cross, Euston and St Pancras area.
