Urban Partners Homework Club secures Highly Commended (Best CSR Initiative) at the CorpComms Awards 2018.
On Thursday 29 November, Urban Partners attended the CorpComms Awards 2018 held at The Troxy in Limehouse. We were thrilled to have the Urban Partners and Eurostar Homework Club shortlisted to the final three for the Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative alongside Iceland and The Body Shop.
A key aim of Urban Partners is to ‘Engage with the Next Generation’ and with the Homework Club, one of our Hero Projects, we have done exactly that. The Homework Club which is held at Eurostar provides not only a space for quiet study, but also specific subject tuition from UP Member employees and importantly an opportunity for young people to interact with an international business and familiarise themselves with working within the corporate world, all whilst still at school.
After a long build up on the night, with awards such as The Best Corporate Campaign and The Best Media Relations Campaign preceding our category, we were happy to be awarded with the ‘Highly Commended’ status for our CSR Initiative, placing above The Body Shop. Although Iceland pipped us to the post for their plastic reducing initiatives, it was a testament to the hard work involved behind the scenes, for an Urban Partners initiative to be shortlisted against two global brands with worldwide connections.
Thanks to the hard work of its organisers, Homework Club continues to blossom. With Eurostar regularly hitting its capacity of 30 students every week, additional space is now being provided at Springer Nature, which allows Urban Partners employees to provide support to over 50 local students every week.
Urban Partners would like to thank everybody involved in making Homework Club the success it is, Eurostar and Springer Nature for kindly providing the space and all of the UP Member employees who volunteer to tutor.
A huge congratulations to all involved and we look forward to continuing and expanding Homework Club in 2019!
